Each pack contains multiple plants, ready to be planted in containers, hanging baskets, or directly in garden beds. These varieties are perfect for gardeners looking for shade-loving, easy-to-care-for plants that provide non-stop color through the growing season.

Planting

  1. Location: Choose a shady to partially sunny spot for your New Guinea Impatiens Paradise Packs, as they thrive in indirect light or light morning sun. Full sun exposure can scorch the delicate flowers, so it’s best to plant them in areas with some afternoon shade.
  2. Soil: These impatiens prefer moist, well-draining, fertile soil. Use a high-quality potting mix for containers, and amend the soil with organic matter like compost for garden beds to improve drainage and retain moisture.
  3. Planting Depth: When planting, place your impatiens at the same depth as they were in their pack. Make sure to gently loosen the root ball before planting and cover with soil.
  4. Spacing: Space your plants 10–12 inches apart to allow them room to grow and thrive without overcrowding. For containers, ensure there’s enough space for their root systems to spread.

Watering

  1. Consistent Moisture: Keep the soil consistently moist but not soggy. New Guinea Impatiens need regular watering, especially in warm weather, but they don’t like sitting in water. Be sure to provide well-draining pots or garden beds.
  2. Watering Frequency: Check the soil regularly. Water when the top inch of soil feels dry, ensuring deep watering to reach the roots. Avoid letting the soil dry out completely.

Fertilizing

  1. Balanced Fertilizer: Feed your New Guinea Impatiens Paradise with a balanced, water-soluble fertilizer (e.g., 20-20-20) every 4–6 weeks during the growing season to encourage healthy growth and abundant blooms.
  2. Avoid Over-Fertilizing: Too much fertilizer can lead to excessive leaf growth without flowers. Stick to the recommended dosage for best results.

Pruning and Deadheading

  1. Deadheading: Regularly remove spent blooms to promote new flowers. Pinch off any faded flowers at the base of the stem to encourage fresh blooms.
  2. Pruning: If the plant becomes leggy or too large, trim back overgrown stems to maintain a neat, compact shape and prevent it from becoming too straggly.

Pests and Diseases

  1. Pests: Watch for common garden pests like aphids or spider mites. If detected, treat the plant with an insecticidal soap or neem oil.
  2. Diseases: New Guinea Impatiens can be susceptible to downy mildew, especially in humid conditions. To prevent this, ensure good air circulation and avoid overhead watering.

Winter Care

  1. Cold Sensitivity: New Guinea Impatiens are not frost-tolerant. In colder climates, bring them indoors before the first frost or treat them as annuals.
  2. Indoor Care: If growing indoors, place the plants near a bright window with indirect sunlight and reduce watering in the winter months to avoid waterlogging.
